CLAIMS ADMINISTRATION
Third party administration services are available with the Insurance Group to all school district members in good standing with the New Jersey School Boards Association. A board of education can obtain claim administration services either directly or through an agent or broker.
The Insurance Group has the goal of providing superior claim handling service, and this is accomplished for many reasons.
The average experience of our claim technical staff is fifteen years, and the supervisory staff has a minimum of twenty years claim's experience. The annual turnover ratio is less than 5%.
Our claim pendings per technician are the lowest in the industry, and since 1994, independent claim auditors have noted "superior" results.
Claim administrative and technical personnel of the Insurance Group manage legal files to assure strict adherence to the Insurance Group's claim legal handling policies and procedures. These procedures include litigation expense containment measures such as a mandatory legal committee meeting that occur regularly between the technical and supervisory claim staff. A result of this meeting is a claim action plan that reduces litigation expenses by evaluating the discovery plan of defense counsel and reduction of legal fees with in house settlement negotiations when applicable. Another example of the Insurance Group's legal handling policies and procedures is mandatory client update requirements to keep the board of education informed on litigated claims.
