LOSS CONTROL

The NJSBAIG Loss Control Department is dedicated to providing you with proven services that will help make your school district a safer place for students, employees and members of the general public.

Since our only business is public schools, our mission is not diminished by the need to be expert in any area other than public schools. Therefore, our programs, information, recommendations, and suggestions are geared to school districts.

The following services are available at no charge to NJSBAIG members:

• Video Library: Videos also available through this office for the National Resource Safety Center
• SafetyNet: A monthly safety newsletter dedicated to providing each district with a monthly safety theme. Each month the theme should be discussed with every employee as part of your overall safety program.
• Comprehensive On-site Inspections: Our building inspections result in a detailed list of observations (sorted by school building within your district). Each observation is prioritized and the appropriate code citations listed.
• Claim Summary Information. A report, which summarizes all of your claims, is provided to you on a quarterly basis.
• Specialty reports are available to you, which include trend analysis, repeat claimants, and lagtime for claim reporting.
• Safety Audit Manual. A comprehensive manual that includes such topics as how to conduct an accident investigation, fire alarm system maintenance, PEOSH recordkeeping, and a safety self-audit designed to help you establish or enhance your current safety program.
• In-Service Seminars. Members of the Loss Control Department are available to come to your location and provide safety training to district at no additional charge.
